New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi met with his Spanish colleague Pedro Sanchez on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome on Sunday.
Both leaders discussed India-EU relations and cooperation on climate action and priority at the upcoming COP26.
They also exchanged views on interested regional and global problems, including Afghanistan and Indo-Pacific, said a government statement.
“The two leaders welcomed the growth of bilateral and investment relations including the signing of a recent contract to get 56 C295 aircraft from Airbus Spain, 40 of which will be ‘made in India’ in collaboration with the Tata Advanced Systems,” he said.
They also agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as e-mobility, clean technology and deep sea exploration.
“Modi invited Spain to invest in various sectors including green hydrogen, infrastructure and defense manufacturing and further utilizing the Indian national infrastructure pipeline, the plan to monetize the asset and plan Gati Shakti,” said the government, added Modi to India to welcome Sanchez to India next year.
