New Delhi: RSS-Affiliate Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to revoke three agricultural laws “seemed true” to avoid “controversy and unreasonable conflict”.
However, it attacked the leaders of the farmers, said “their arrogant attitude” to continue their protests did not benefit small farmers.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha, body of agricultural union umbrella, pioneered agitation of three agricultural laws, has welcomed the decision of the Prime Minister but said they would wait for the announcement to be implemented through parliamentary procedures.
Union Leader Bharatiya Kisan Rakesh Tikait said the protest of anti-livestories that was ongoing protest would only be withdrawn after three controversial legislates were revoked in parliament and legal guarantees at the minimum support price for the crop.
The statement issued by BKS Secretary General Badri Narayan Chaudhary stated, “The decision to revoke these three farmers’ actions by the Prime Minister seemed to be the right decision to avoid unfortunate controversy and conflict.” “The type of arrogant attitude as called the leaders of farmers is not beneficial for our country’s small farmers in the long run, which consists of almost 90 percent of the agricultural community,” he said.
BKS said farmers were exploited in the market and to overcome this problem, there was a need to make a system that guarantees and ensures a “favorable price” for farmer agricultural products.
“The corrected version of these actions (three livestock), as suggested by BKS, will be more beneficial for the number of largest farmers in our country,” added the clothes.
BKS noted that modi during the announcement also emphasized making the price of minimum support “more effective” and for that, a committee will be formed.
“Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, with suggestions to include representations of non-political farmer organizations in this committee, welcoming this decision,” he added.
