New Delhi: More than 150 assistant professors recruited under the third phase of the Teqip Project The Ministry of Education has protested in national capital demanding regularization of their services.
A statement said the program to improve the quality of technical education, which was initiated with the World Bank, was intended to improve the quality of technical education, especially in low-income countries and specialized category countries by providing high-quality faculty members to existing technical college.

This project will expire on September 30, the statement said.
Under the Teqip-III project, 1,500 assistant professors were temporarily recruited for 71 engineering institutions in rural areas and focusing on 12 states, the statement said.
Tejas Bele, who has taught in the Ujjain Engineering College and protested in the bath house, said the third phase of Teqip was underway since 2017 and even though it was supposed to end in September 2020, we got the extension twice – 2021 September and March 2021 and 2021.
“This center pays us.
A MoU was signed between the central and state governments where it was promised that after the project period, the faculty carried out properly would be maintained by the state government to continue the services of assistant professors.
“However, this center has asked us to go state government part according to MoU and the state government in turn says that the faculty has been recruited by the center.
We are here since August 25 and demand our service retention.
The project ended on September 30.
