Chisinau: Moldova Parliament on Friday confirmed Natalia Gavrilita as Prime Minister and approved the program to attract post-Soviet countries from the protracted crisis and bring it closer to the EU.
The main pro-European party won a big victory in the parliamentary poll last month, strengthening the hands of President Maia Sandu as she encouraged to reform Moldova.
The selection of the snap, was summoned by Sandu in April to support its position against members of parliament which blocked reforms, looking at the correct party action and solidarity and solidarity (PAS) took 52.8 percent of voting.
On Friday, 61 parliamentarians in Parliament 101 chairs chose to approve the nomination of 43-year-old Gavrilita, former Minister of Finance with Harvard educated.
“The government faces a very important task to show that Moldova can be arranged by honest people with good intentions,” Gavrilita said when he launched the program.
The new prime minister said he wanted to change Moldova and his political class and stopped corruption.
For this reason, he added, he increased the number of cabinet ministers to 13 out of nine.
The government will focus on reforming justice systems, attracting investment, creating high-paying work and increasing pensions, he said.
“The new government will not steal, promote laws that will encourage embezzlement or divide state money,” Gavrilita said.
One of the poorest countries in Europe, Moldova has been rocked by many political crises and corruption scandals.
In 2014, $ 1 billion disappeared from three large banks dropped the nation into the deep crisis.
Despite its small size, politics in small Moldova, which was sandwiched between members of Ukraine and NATO Romania, had long been very sensitive.
The population of around 2.6 million has long been divided into a bond closer to the European Union or maintaining the relationship between the Soviet era with Moscow.
Sandu, a former 49-year-old World Bank economist was elected president last November.
