Coimbatore: With the Grants University (UGC) Commission extends the deadline to submit a thesis for PhD terminals and students, the University of Bharathiar (BU) is likely to issue formal communication in this regard immediately.
When the PhD scholar to hand over their thesis is June 2021.
Now, the deadline has been extended until December 31, 2021.
UGC has issued orders in this case on March 16.
Another order reaffirmed the same thing was then released by Rajnish Jain, Secretary of UGC, in September, in September.

For S Venkatess, a part-time PhD candidate from a city university whose special extension by the Ethics Committee has ended in June, the command has come as a lifeline.
He said he could not attend a compulsory conference and submit research papers in the UGC journal on time because of the pandemic situation.
While students like he are aware of the UGC guidelines, many are not aware of the same and finally visit universities to know more details and the possibility of extension of the time limit.
“There is no communication on the MU website about the extension by the UGC.
We also do not know how to get ratified extensions,” said another research scholar, asking for anonymity.
A senior official with a controller part of the BU examination confirmed that they planned to issue formal communication at the UGC’s decision to extend the deadline for the submission of a thesis by PhD scholar.
