Coimbatore: Universitas Bharathiar (BU) has decided to postpone his decision about hiking costs in college affiliated to the next academic year because of a pandemic.
The decision was taken at the Senate meeting which took place on the University campus on Tuesday.
The revised fee is starting from this academic year 2021-22.
Chairman of the Senate and Deputy Chancellor of the University of P Kaliraj has approved the decision to delay revising costs.
“Universities have announced the increase in the cost of the course, new affiliate dishes, student registration fees and phd synopsis shipping costs.
Many Senate members request to delay the increase in costs because it will increase the costs paid by students,” said President Aut P Thirununavakkarasu.
The decision is expected to reduce tuition fees of Rs 750- Rs 1250 in this college and benefit the students, he said.
The evaluation for the PhD’s thesis from a foreign evaluator is more than RS 24,000 but only Rs 6,000 collected by the University.
While it increased to RS 18,000, the exception was given only for the Tamil PhD, he said.
