Monetising PSU is not in national interest: M K Stalin

Chennai: Chief of the Constitutional Court of MK Stalin on Thursday said selling or renting the public sector business (PSU) opposed the interests of the nation and told the State Assembly that he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to register his party’s opposition to the Government’s Government’s decision to Monetise PSU.
“Selling or renting PSUS is not a national interest and that’s our stand,” Stalin told the Assembly.
He said this while responding to the special attention call movement which was transferred by K Selvaperhagai from Congress and T Ramachandran CPI.
Congress members and CPI condemn the center to try to sell PSU made and protected for more than seven decades.
They urged the state government to prevent the trade union government to sell national assets.
Calculation of profit is not the only goal because it is also intended for people’s welfare, CM said.
“PSU is a collective-owned people.
All are well aware that psus is designed and established to support the country’s economy and provide employment opportunities.
They are Cog vital for MSMEs,” he said.
The Thangam Industrial Minister Thennarasu said even the state government had contributed to creating this facility (PSU) by giving them land as in the case of salem steel factories.
Therefore, the union government must seek an opinion on each state government before making decisions about the monetization of PSU.
“We will never accept the privatization of PSU and the party has opposed such a step since when the former Mr.
Mr.
Mr.
Milunganidhi,” he said.
