New Delhi: In the case of money laundering associated with alleged coal fraud in the state, Head of West Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee and his wife were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to be questioned.
Abhishek Banerjee (33) is the TMC National Secretary General and represents the Diamond Port Chair at Lok Sabha.
Reacting to development, Banerjee said, “BJP thinks it can put pressure on us by using ED, but we will appear stronger.” TMC MP has been called to appear before the case investigation officer on September 6, his wife Rujira sent a call similar to the prevention of money laundering law (PMLA) for 1.
Some Indian police service officers (IPS) and a lawyer related to Abhishek Banerjee Called to appear on a different date next month in the same case, officials said.
This case, registered under the PMLA criminal section, was submitted by ED after studying the November celebration, 2020 CBI who accused the fraud of multi-crore coal theft related to the Timur West Balat Mine Ltd in the Kunustoria and Kajora countries in Indonesia and around Asansol.

Agency has made at least two arrests in this case.
One of them is Vikas Mishra, a brother of the TMC Vinay Mishra youth leader.
Vinay Mishra was declared to have left the country sometimes back and may have also left its Indian citizenship.
The second person arrested by Ed in the beginning of this year was the former inspector responsible for the Bankura Police Station Ashok Kumar Mishra.
Ed previously claimed that Mishra’s brothers accepted “the results of a crime worth 730 crore on behalf of some influential people and for themselves” in this case it involves an estimated number of Rs 1,352 Crore.
