RANCHI: After its timely beginning on Saturday, the southwest monsoon has further progressed to pay just about all sections of Jharkhand on Sunday, IMD Ranchi stated.

The IMD bulletin added that a very low pressure region within mid century Bay of Bengal combined with a cyclonic circulation is very likely to transfer west-northwestward throughout Odisha, Jharkhand and north west Chhattisgarh through the next few days.
According to the bulletin, Palamu has seen 154% excess rain, followed closely by 147 percent in Ranchi and 138 percent in Lohardaga.
Unconfirmed reports have indicated that the three youths got stranded at Basa river at Gumla district as a result of sudden flash flooding.
They were stranded in an island at the center of the lake for a few hours but returned after the water levels dropped.
