Monsun hasn’t gained momentum at Rajasthan

Jaipur: Even after a month has passed since the Southwest Monsun has arrived in the state, the majority of districts have not received abundant rainfall.
Except for several heavy rainfall spells, the majority of districts have not witnessed good rainfall.
The average rainfall of the state is 35.6% lower than rainfall occurs in 2020 to 24 July.
According to the data available with Jaipur Met Office, only Jaisalmer is well fate in terms of monsoon rainfall.
“Until Saturday, Jaisalmer received 139.33mm rainfall compared to 70.20mm received until July 24,” said an officer with a water resources department while quoting the rainfall on Saturday.
Even the capital of the state of Jaipur is in the category of rainfall deficit has 39.4% of rainfall lower than 2020.
“Jaipur this season has so far received 128.9mm rainfall compared to 212.80mm.

Jaipur Met Office stated that various cyclones during April and might have an impact on the progress of Southwestern Monsun this year so far.

Likewise, the average rainfall this season has so far been 35.1% lower than last year.
“Hopefully, next week will bring heavy rain in a widespread form,” said an officer with Jaipur Met Office.
