New Delhi: Proceedings of Rajya Sabha on the opening day of the Monsoon Parliament session on Monday was postponed for an hour as a sign of respect for two sitting MPS Raghunath Mohapatra and Rajeev Satav.
The Chairperson of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiiah Naidu said the second bait of MPS sat down and 10 former members, including Bollywood veteran actor Dilip Kumar and Sprinter Indian Singh Singh.
He read the reference obituary for each of the 13 before postponing the trial for one hour “as a sign of respect for the memories of Raghunath Mohapatra and Rajeev Satav, sitting at home, the house stands for one hour”.
While the members who were nominated by Mohapatra died on May 9 at the age of 78, the leader of the Satav Congress died on May 16 at the age of 46 years.
