Daltonganj: The day after the Jharkhand Assembly passed the Lynching Anti-horded bill, social media rolled with viral videos where a young man was filmed depending on the tree.
Palamu police said the video came from an incident or the possibility of a moral police taking place in a village under the police station Lesiganjj on December 15 this year.
However, the police remained not committed to act on incidents quoting that no formal complaints submitted by the man who was filmed in the video.
Police Palamu said the man, who came from a minority community, was tied upside down from the tree in Karma Village where he went to meet a girl.
When young people arrive, members of the girl and neighbors catch it and tie it to the tree to “teach her lesson”.
The sources of the police claimed that the young man was slapped by his kidnappers before they released him.
Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said: “Both men or their families or girls or family members have filed a complaint with the police until Wednesday night.
However, the police Lesiganj has been directed to record the statement of both parties and approach this problem with seriousness.”
