More actions in the case of illegal sand mining immediately: Minister

Patna: The day after the suspension of two IPS officers and 15 other officers, the Department of Geology Department Minister Jan Ram on Wednesday signaled the silver round from government officials on alleged involvement in illegal sand mining, storage and transportation.
Aurangabad SP Sudheer Kumar Porika and Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey was transferred from their post on July 14 and was suspended on Tuesday because of allegations of negligence and commissions in illegal sand mining and transportation in each.
The economic violation unit (Eou) of the State Police, in an internal investigation, found their role in illegal sand mining and transportation in Patna Regency, Bhojpur, advice, Aurangabad, Rohas and Kaiur.

The minister said at all 46 government officials had been suspended in this case until now.
“The Eou report opposed 42 officers, but then four mining inspectors were also suspended.
All 46 have been found involved in illegal sand mining,” he said.
RAM said Eou was running a preliminary investigation into all of these officers to find out whether they had collected disproportional assets or had taken illegal satisfaction from the sand mafia to allow them to mine sand illegally.
“This will be decided only after the inquiry of settlement if there is material to register pine against them or not.
The house department will make a decision on it,” he said.
The minister said that large amounts of sand mined illegally from Sone River had been confiscated.
When asked, he said the license of any company found involved in illegal mining has not been suspended or canceled until now.
The Minister could not immediately answer how much sand mined illegally was confiscated during the state of the state government on illegal sand mining.
“I’ll collect details,” he added.
A retired IPS Officer, prefers anonymity, said the suspension of so many government officials has become the largest administrative crackdown on corruption in the state.
