New Delhi: On August 7 last year, the Delhi government launched an electric vehicle policy (EV).
A total of 739 EVs were registered that month.
This August sees 2,603 ​​vehicles listed as the overall part of this category in new registration showing a surge.
Although vehicle registration as a whole has fallen since previous years because Covid-19, the number of events registered in the city has increased steadily.
Not only the EVS registration rose, but with 2,413 of them registered in July, the last two months have recorded more electric vehicles sold in Delhi than those run by CNG.
However, registration of CNG-gas hybrid cars remains significantly higher every month.
While the 1,445 EVS was registered in January, the appropriate number for CNG-Run vehicles was 2.121.
In February, the EV figure rose to 1,599 against 2,648 for CNG vehicles and in March, each number from two categories was 2.914 and 2,201.
As a second Covid wave swept the capital forcing locking, overall vehicle sales were dipped in April and dropped in May.
Former sales of 1,120 EV sales and 1,551 CNG vehicles, while they can see only two EV and zero from the last registered.
There are several increased sales in June.
In July and August, the registration figure for CNG-Run vehicles each was 2,357 and 1,966.
Both numbers were lower than EVS, 2.603 and 2,413.
In accordance with the number distributed by the Delhi government last month, the share of EV in sales of new vehicles rose from 1.2% in the period August 2019 and July 2020 to 3.3% between August 2020 and July this year after the launch of EV policy.
Although most registered EVs are e-rickshaws, followed by electric two wheels, this is the segment, apart from electric autorickshaws which according to the government Delhi will be a modifier of the game when it comes to scale.
The state government has decided to give permission that has not been claimed to autorickshaws only for e-auto applicants and more than 4,000 of these electric tricycles are expected to immediately hit Jalan Delhi.
The Delhi government also spoke with the central government about easing restrictions on the number of e-buses that can be installed under adoption and manufacturing of hybrid and electrical vehicle schemes that are faster so that up to 5,000 it can increase the capital’s public transport fleet in Indonesia in the next five years.
The government is also working on war foothills to create filling infrastructure throughout the city.
Delhi Transport Corporation has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with limited convergence energy services for installation of charging stations and battery exchange stations in the Depot and Bus Terminal.
