More girls consume tobacco than boys at J’Khand school

Ranchi: Women’s students in the 13-15 age group consumed more tobaccolessly in schools in schools and the government – rather than boys in the same age group in Jharkhand, according to the global youth tobacco survey conducted by the Institute of International Population, Mumbai according to The survey, which was released by the Minister of Health Banna Gupta on Monday, 7.5% of students from the sample size of 4,010 in the age group 13-15 used smokeless tobacco.

This survey was conducted in 32 schools.

“We are committed to ending the use of tobacco among minors and we have also issued laws in Vidhan Sabha for this effect.
The law has increased the legal age of 18 years to 21 years for those who want to consume tobacco.” He was Adding that to ensure that there is a complete ban on the use of tobacco products in public places, the government has prohibited sales and use of tobacco products within 100 meters of educational institutions.
Expressing concerns over the increase in the use of tobacco products among female students, Gupta said that threats can be reduced if the center brings strict provisions in COTPA acting along the line one in Jharkhand so that the younger generation can stay away from this product.
“Strict action on COTPA law violators will be taken and it does not only apply to small shop owners but also to the manufacturer,” he added.
Overcoming the meeting, the Executive Director of the Socio-Economic Development and Education Community Deepak Mishra said: “This is a sign of worry because we have detected an increase in the prevalence of tobacco use among female students.
This will not only affect them but will also have the next generation.
I will urge The state government to implement the latest Tobbako free educational institution guidelines in collaboration with the earliest education department.
“Meanwhile, state government officials also expressed their happiness for the reduced prevalence of tobacco users in the state because it has dropped to 38.9% of 50, 1%.
