More second line care centers to open immediately

Thiruvananthapuram: With the district witnessing an exponential increase in positive Covid cases, the district government has decided to open more second-line treatment centers.
In addition, it was decided to increase the number of beds in the main government hospital in the district.
In the government medical hospital, the strength of Ward Covid’s bed has been increased to 400 from the current 200.
has been improved considering rapid surge in Covid cases in the district.
If the situation deteriorates, more wards in college medical hospitals and general hospitals will be converted as covid wards.
At present this district has 54,280 active cases and the amount is set to increase in the coming days.
The number of clusters also increased in the district which has raised the main concern.
On Friday, 7,896 cases were reported in this district.
This is the reason why the district government decided to open more first rows and second-line care centers.
People with mild symptoms will be treated at this center.
According to Authority, ESI Hospital, Peroorkada, Rims Hospital, Nedumangad, and family health center, Chenkal, have been converted as a second-line care center for corporate limits, 60 more arranged beds and medical supervisors have been appointed here.
At Hospital Rims 80 beds and at the 50 Chenkal Hospital the bed was arranged.
In these three hospitals, 20% of beds will have oxygen facilities.
If the need arises, the number of oxygen beds will also increase.
Local bodies and district police authorities have been asked to ensure all facilities and security for this second-line care center.
District administration will ensure the presence of doctors and other medical staff in these three centers, in accordance with orders issued by the district collector who is also the chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority.
Meanwhile, the district collector has also urged all hospitals to ensure that if there are positive pregnant women they must be isolated in their respective hospitals where they are undergoing treatment.
Even if they get care from a private hospital, they must be isolated at the hospital itself.
Only in emergencies that this pregnant woman was referred to a woman and children, orders.
If there is a hospital found against this order, strict action will be taken against such hospitals.
All private medical college hospitals in the district must ensure the facilities for pregnant women for delivery and cesarean surgery, he said.
