Lucknow: More than 1.4 teenagers Crore in the age group 15 to 18 will be able to take a vaccine against Coronavirus from Monday.
They may only register such as the cowin portal and vaccinate in health facilities from their comfort.
According to the recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Group on immunization in India (Ntagi), teens can only take Covaxin, unlike the elders who can choose from four bouquets.
Additional Secretary Secretary, Health and Family, Amit Mohan Prasad said preparations for adolescent vaccinations were completed and will begin on January 3.
Health officials said that the necessary changes had been made in the Cowin portal for dozens.
The state also works to facilitate teen vaccination on the school campus as it is done during measles and Rubella vaccination.
Prasad said vulnerable population vaccination, including health care workers, frontline workers and citizens over 60 or those with co-morbid conditions will begin on January 10, the list also includes those who will be on the assignment of elections.
Meanwhile, the total number of dosages provided in the country crossed a sign of 20.2 crores with 6.6 lakh vaccination on Saturday.
In terms of age groups, 12.86 doses of crore have been given at 18 pluses while 4.7 doses of crore have been given to the age group of 45 years.
More than 2.6 doses of crore have been managed in the category of elderly people.
