New Delhi: More than 1.77 Lakh applications from female candidates were accepted to enter the National Defense Academy (NDA), the government told parliament on Monday.
In a written reply to the question at Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for the defense of Ajay Bhatt said the number of applications received was 5,75,856, where 1,77,654 came from women.

The minister said the infrastructure and facilities needed for the training of female candidates was in the Academy.
“Medical standards have been notified in UPSC notifications.
Physical standards will be completed before the commencement of training,” he said.
“There is no limit to the number of female applicants who can register for the 2021 national defense academy examination,” Bhatt added.
For separate questions, he said the acceptance of needs (AON) for 11 systems developed accidentally with the total cost of RS 24,711 Crore has been given for service induction.
