Washington: More than 1 million children in the US have not registered in schools, with the sharpest decline in kindergarten, more than 340,000 students, because the Covid-19 pandemic continues to swept the country, said a media report.
Children who are expected to enroll in local schools do not appear, both directly or online, and missing students are concentrated in younger classes, the Xinhua news agency quoted the New York Times report published on Saturday.

The report added that in addition to triggering a large gap in health care and income, pandemics also “inability to education, replying to some of the most vulnerable students before they spend one day in class”, according to registration analysis at 70,000 public schools crossing 33 US states.
Analysis by the New York Times together with Stanford University shows that in 33 states, 10,000 local public schools lose at least 20 percent of their kindergarten.
In 2019 and in 2018, only 4,000 or more schools experienced such steep drops.
The survey also shows that the decrease in the steep registration of students is in the household under or right above the poverty line, adding that the decline is 28 percent greater in schools in other countries than throughout the country.
