More than 100 Indian Sikh, Politicians to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan

Lahore: More than 100 Sikh pilgrims from India, including the Head of the Punjab Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, is expected to arrive at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib who is respected in Pakistan on Thursday using a Visa-free cardboard corridor, about 20 months after pilgrimage to follow Covid followed.

On Wednesday, the first batch of 28 Sikh India, including women, arrived in Pakistan to take part in the annual annual commemoration of the founder of Sikhism Teacher Nanak Dev on Friday.

“The Head of the Head of the Indian Punjab (Channi) with his delegation is also scheduled to visit Darbar Sahib on Thursday,” said Head of the Kartarpur Project Management Unit Muhammad Latif said.
Latif also told the dawn newspaper that more than 100 Indian pilgrims were expected to visit Gurdwara on Thursday.
The Kartarpur Corridor Links Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, the final resting place for the founder of the teacher of Nanak Dev, to the Temple of Dera Baba Nanak in the Gurdaspur district.
Gurpurab, which marked the warning of the birth of Nanak teacher, will be celebrated on November 19.
Until Wednesday, more than 2,500 Sikh pilgrims have arrived through the wagi border.
The pilgrims left for Sahib’s nail immediately after their arrival to participate in the main event at Gurdwara Janam Asthan on Friday, spokesman for the Property Board Evacuee Trust (ETPB) Amir Hashmi to the Fajar newspaper.
“All Sikh who visits from India and elsewhere will be facilitated to travel to Kartarpur Sahib,” he added.
Pilgrimage to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara was suspended in March 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The Indian government reopens the Kartarpur Sahib corridor from his side on Wednesday.
India signed a Kartarpur corridor agreement with Pakistan on October 24, 2019.
Under the pact, Indian pilgrims from all religions were allowed to conduct visa-free travel rounds through part 4.5 km-long.
In November 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan officially inaugurated Kartarpur’s corridor as part of the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nanak teacher at a colorful ceremony, paving the way for Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit one of their most holy religious sites in Pakistan without needing a visa.
