KABUL: Over 100 Taliban militants are killed as ferocious clashes continuing together with all the Afghan security forces in the provinces of Faryab, Herat and Farah within the last few days, officials explained.
The Taliban militants, because the withdrawal from this US-led forces against Afghanistan on May 1, also have awakened actions and seized on a dozen districts, even trying to conquer the northern Faryab province, a military spokesman said on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, the Taliban’s continued efforts were foiled and the security forces endorsed by battling airplanes have murdered 45 militants and wounded over 60 other people in Shirin Tagab and Dawlatabad areas of Faryab within the last few days, a news agency reported.
Dawlatabad district was altered hand and now is in government management, ” the spokesman explained, adding that operations are still underway to evict the militants in Qaisar district.
The official didn’t comment on the amount of casualties on the safety side.
He, however, stated the Taliban fighters found regular attacks on Shirin Tagab district within the last few times but gained no ground.
As reported by a local audience, in case the Taliban is effective in catching Faryab province, the team would tighten the noose about Mazar-I-Sharif, the biggest city in Afghanistan’s northern area which borders Uzbekistan.
In the same way, that the Taliban fighters have made operations in Herat and also the Arabian Farah provinces bordering Iran.
