Thane: More than 100 Thane City Corporate Staff has been going to Mahad-Polashpur in Raigad Regency to help with solid waste management, water and other problems after Thursday crossing landslides and floods caused by unrelenting rain, senior official said civilian on Sunday.
Commissioner TMC Vipin Sharma told reporters this group included health staff to conduct surveys to detect Covid-19, dengue fever, leptospirosis, epidemic and fever outbreaks, and they carry 10,000 adequate antigen testing kits and sufficient stock of drugs.
The group also has maintenance staff, sanitation inspectors, 24 pumps, 10,000 liter water tankers and two trucks with mineral water, rations, blankets etc., he said.
A veterinary team has also been going to the area in 10 mini buses, dumper and jeeps to do Panchnama animal carcasses and help them according to health norms, Sharma tells.
The release of the Maharashtra government on Sunday afternoon said Raigad contributed 52 of the 113 deaths caused by landslides, floods and other rain-related incidents in several parts of the last few days.
