New York: Ransomware attack launched for hours before the weekend of US independence holidays has the potential to affect 1,000 businesses, said Saturday researchers.
Keyya Information Technology Company confirmed Friday that “VSA” software – used to manage and monitor computers remotely – it has been targeted but said it has limited the attack to “a very small percentage of our customers” that uses tools.
Software, however, manipulated “to encrypt more than 1,000 companies,” said Cybersecurity Specials Huntress Labs on Saturday.
