More than 10,000 apply to Covid help under the Delhi CM scheme

New Delhi: The Delhi government has received 10,436 applications under Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Parawaar Arthik Sahayata YOJNA, where RS 50,000 has been provided as a financial assistance once to 5,120 beneficiaries.
Monthly assistance is provided for 1,188 beneficiaries, which competed from those who died because Covid-19.
Of the 10,436 applications, 2,499 for monthly assistance and 7,937 under the one-time assistance scheme.
Apart from the beneficiaries given a one-time assistance, the government, in a statement, said it had begun to provide assistance to 1,188 beneficiaries under the monthly assistance scheme.
Under YOJNA, which is run by the Government Social Welfare Department, 256 applications received 2,499 for monthly assistance have been rejected after supervision, the statement said.
“Meanwhile, after receipt of applications found correctly during verification, the department has begun to provide benefits to 1,188 beneficiaries, and so far, distributed 45.6 lakh Rs,” he said.
Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam said the government could not reduce the sadness of those who lost their loved ones, but stood up with them.
“Also, the government is serious to provide all assistance to all children who have become orphans,” he added.
Regardless of the one-time assistance of RS 50,000 given to the family, Rs 2,500 is given per month to children who have lost their parents or one of them.
All such children will be given Rs 2,500 per month until the age of 25 under the scheme, the government said.
Applicants must register on the e-district portal from the Delhi government using Aadhaar and Mobile numbers.
Those who meet the criteria mentioned on the website, must complete the application, and upload a copy of the supporting documents mentioned in the form.
After this application was sent, a government representative from the Magistrate Sub-Division office would visit the Petitioner’s home within a week to verify and help collect additional information or documents, if needed.
