Pune: More than 10,000 students go abroad have been vaccinated so far in the district, after registration they started from May.
According to the district health office report, 9,117 students from the limit of Pune Civic, 1,411 from the limit of Civic Pimpri Chinchwad and 392 from rural areas Pune was vaccinated so far.
Suryakant Devkar, Pune Municipal Corporation’s main immunization officer (PMC), told TI that the vaccination process for students who headed abroad get a good response.
“We offer Covishield students on the Civic vaccination site designated on a dedicated day in a week,” he said.
In a vaccine gap for such students, Devkar said the Government Government has said in June the gap between two doses of covishield for those who travel internationally for educational purposes or employment opportunities can be reduced to less than 84 days after the date of the first dose.
In this case, the second dose was given after 28 days since the first dose.
Pune District on Thursday received 3.26 Doses of Lakh Covid vaccine – 2.34 lakh dosage of covishield and 32,610 doses of covaxin.
An official from the District Health Office said this would allow them to drive mega vaccination on Friday and Saturday in all districts.
On Thursday, 59,740 beneficiaries vaccinated in the district, taking the number of beneficiaries who received the first dose to 66.56 lakh and those who received the second dose to 27.26 lakh.
District health officials target to cross the one-crore sign at the end of September through a special drive.
