More than 12.6K apply to Covid assistance in K’Taka; 5.3K cleaned.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Government clears more than 5,000 applications that are looking for compensation for Covid-19 death.
The country recorded 39,000 deaths since the plague of pandemic.
Government data shows there are 12,620 applications – looking for compensation under the central and state schemes – until November 13.
Of these, 8,223 came from the BPL family.
The government approved 5,380 applications – 3,818 from BPL and 1,562 from non-BPL families – and distributed the amount.
“For all families whose applications have been approved, the center goes directly to their bank account, while part of the country will be distributed at the district level after verification,” the official said.
Advocate Clifton Rozario, who works with a family looking for compensation, said: “Most of the deaths in Karnataka are the result of mismanagement of the government producing a lack of bed, ventilator and so on.
Therefore, the government must take responsibility for identifying and distributing compensation.
However, there is still not enough awareness created by the government about it BPL.
“Officials said the compensation policy was final and there was no discussion about the increase in number.
They also say pending application permissions are being accelerated.
Revenue Minister R Ashoka said: “About 30% of the delayed application is caused by the problem of division in the family.
For example, Covid victims have more than one child and we can only transfer compensation to one of them.
But these people fought for claims.
I am agree there must be more awareness and the government works for it.
We will hold an event at the National College Grounds, Bengaluru where the minister’s Chair will distribute several checks.
