Mandya: A total of 140 engineering students have tested positive Covid-19 in the Mandya district in Karnataka on Tuesday causing panic among people.
After the development, PES Engineering College of Mandya, is considered a reputed institute in the region, stating holidays for five days.
According to district authorities, the test has been carried out on more than 350 students after some of them developed small symptoms.
Among those tested positive 70 isolated in the dorm room and those at home are advised to be quarantined in their place and consult with doctors for care.

This development has caused panic, among others and the Ministry of Health has begun preventive measures to examine the spread of the Coronavirus to the district general population.
It has been decided to make students change negatively tested again after seven days.
Previously, high alert sounded in the Mandya district when 84 worshipers returned from Tamil Nadu after pilgrimage to the Temple of Om Shakthi was tested positive for Covid-19 in the first week of January.
Thousands in all districts make annual pilgrimages to the Temple of Omshakthi in Tamil Nadu.
Like many worshipers who returned from pilgrimage tested positively, district authorities have gathered information and tracked around 3,600 worshipers owned by different villages from the district returning from Tamil Nadu after pilgrimage.
The number of Covid cases crosses 1,000 markers in the last week in Mandya and district authorities have begun difficult steps to load threats.
Meanwhile, 251 police officers in the Chikkaballapur district have tested the positive Coronavirus on Tuesday.
Among them, around 65 police personnel were dialed to Mekedatu Diytra.
Police officers have been isolated and they all have small symptoms.
