New York: More than 1,400 US flights were canceled on Sunday after the country’s northeastern countries were published a day before by a deadly winter storm that encouraged several countries to declare an emergency.
The total number of flight cancellation inside, inward, or outside the United States is around 1,450 on Sunday afternoon, according to the flight tracking website.
1,774 other US related flights were postponed, data showed.
Laguardia Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport in New York City and Boston Logan International Airport were in the most hit by delays and cancellations.
A fierce winter storm on Saturday dropped more than 2 feet (60 cm) in several areas when packing strong winds, pushing thousands of leading cancellations of flights and governors in Rhode Island and other countries to reduce access to the road.
The new York Long Islip Long Islip City is a devastated country in all the states, Governor Kathy Hochul to WCBS-TV on Sunday.
“We will give them the Golden Snowball award for this week, this storm.
They are at 24.7 inches,” Hochul said.
“The storm moved from our area last night, but we hope to clean more roads …
and work with our utilities all day today and tomorrow,” said the Governor of Lieutenant Bigsachusetts Karyn Polito on Sunday morning.
In the neighboring country of Canada, the worst weather of cold weather has ended in Atlantic Canada, but many communities deal with the remaining snow, rain, strong winds, and storm waves on Sundays, according to weather network channels.
The condition on Massachusetts Island Nantucket improved on Sunday after a strong Nor’Easter flood road and caused a large power outage on Saturday, the local police department said.
The water is quite deep for two high school students rowing sampan along the flood road, according to photos posted on social media.
In Massachusetts, around 31,000 from 2.6 million customers without electricity on the early Sunday, according to the Pouroooooot.us website.
The Eversource Energy utility company said most of its customers who are still without power will return it at the end of the day on Monday.
Weather may have contributed to at least three deaths in New York, all in Long Island.
One of them is an old woman found on Saturdays in the hotel parking lot in Unionale, New York, with a window of her car open, according to the Nassau District Police Department.
The authorities also reported the deaths of two men, aged 53 and 75, who fainted while shoveling the snow in a separate location in the city of Long Island sysset on Saturday.
