Lucknow: With more than 18,700 inoculation on Saturday, the city minimizes past 17 lakh vaccinations since the launch of the mass vaccination drive against Covid-19 on January 16 this year.
In accordance with the Ministry of Health, 17.2 doses of lakh have been given since the beginning of the campaign.
As many as 3.9 lakh (10.8%) of the 36 populations of the district lakh adults have been fully immunized with two doses, while 9.4 lakh (26.1%) has received their first chance and is waiting the second.
The number of vaccinations on Friday was 20,976 which fell to 18,712 on Saturday.
Of these, 7,789 (41.6%) people completed a two-dose course by taking a second shot and 10,923 (58.3%) individuals took the first jab.
Except for those aged between 18-44 years, the number of second-dose recipients remains higher in all other categories.
Among the beneficiaries, they were in the 18-44 year category consisting of 46.3% followed by a group of 45-59 years (33.7%) and 12.3% of the elderly.
Rest is a health worker and frontline.
The health department official said they planned to encourage vaccination to cover more beneficiaries.
In addition to the Hospital Center and Health Care Center, 25 special camps have been established at work or workplaces, in addition to government hospitals, for vaccination.
“We plan to increase the daily count by adding new camps and enhancing booths in government centers.
We also demand fresh supplies from the government,” said Immunization Officer Dr MK Singh.
To increase the participation and awareness of women among people, the cluster campaign ran in rural areas.
“We are targeting 90% vaccination in the cluster,” he added.
Until now, vaccinations occurred in three clusters – MohanLalganj, Gosainganj and NK Road.
