Pune: More than one lakh receiver from 45-59 and 60-plus categories of age were not vaccinated in the district, more than a year after vaccination against Covid-19 began.
According to the district health office data, around 97,000 from the age of 45-59 are still not vaccinated.
About 27,000 senior citizens have not received their first shot.
Sanjay Patil, Chairperson, Iima Hospital Board of India, Pune Chapter, said, “In the midst of the Delta and Omicron variants, we are not aware of what we are infected.
In such a scenario, the vaccine is the only key to stop the spread of infection.” He said many health workers took shots from May to July last year and still did not qualify for prevention doses.
“There may be an error of the data entry too.
I have taken a second shot on March 5 last year, but is being shown in 5.
June now I have to wait until the completion of nine months for the dose of prevention,” Patil said.
