New Delhi: More than 21,900 Doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given to three prison inmates in the National Capital so far, the Prisons Department Delhi said on Sundays.
According to officials, 21,970 doses – 15,152 first and 6,818 second shot – have been given until December 25.
As on Saturday, 10,707 Tihar prison prisoners were given the first dose of Covid vaccine and 4,352 were given a second dose.
In Rohini Jail, 1,381 inmates received the first dose and 412 doses of both vaccines, according to the data.
In Mandoli prison, 3,064 inmates received the second dose of the first and 2.054.
The Prison department launched a Covid vaccination drive for inmates for 45 years on March 18, while inoculation inmates in the 18-44-year-old group began on May 18.
Officials said more than 4,000 inmates were released from these three prisons.

“We began the process of releasing inmates from the second week of May.
