Gurgaon: acting against old vehicles, Gurgaon Traffic Police have confiscated around 31 vehicles in the last two days.
Police travel against older diesel (10 years) and gasoline vehicles (15 years) considering the direction of NGT to check pollution.
Until now, the police have confiscated around 707 vehicles, of which around 244 have been confiscated this year.
According to the 2015 Green Tribunal 2015 Order, the gasoline car in Delhi-NCR has a 15-year life cycle, while the same for Diesel cars is 10 years.
NGT orders were issued given the increasing pollution in the region.
Traffic Police Gurgaon has started a journey against an old vehicle that leads to a surge in the amount of vehicles confiscated.
On Wednesday around 17 vehicles were confiscated by traffic police from various parts of the city while on Thursday around 14 vehicles were confiscated.
Vehicles of more than 10 years (Diesel) and 15 years (gasoline) are kept by police in Gurgaon and 13 other NCR districts from Haryana.
According to the direction of NGT, vehicles that are older than 10-15 years cannot operate in Delhi-NCR to examine the increasing pollution.
DCP (Traffic) Ravinder Singh Tomar said all types of vehicles, including four-wheeled vehicles and commercial vehicles, will face actions regardless of their registration.
