Kabul: More than 24,000 Taliban have been killed and injured in battle with Afghan security forces for the past four months.
Citing data from the State Ministries for Peace Affairs, Tolo News reported that during the period of running from April to July, the Taliban launched 22,000 attacks in various parts of the country and the attack resulted in murder and injured from 24,000 Taliban.
“The entry of more than 10,000 terrorists from outside Afghanistan to increase violence shows that there are also foreign hands behind the war in Afghanistan,” said Sayed Abdullah Hashemi, an official of the Ministry of Peace State.
Meanwhile, Attaullah Salim, Deputy Head of the High National Reconciliation Council (HCNR), said that the current war in Afghanistan did not have the legitimacy of religion, adding that the Taliban had to end violence.
“We support discussions about all problems including detention problems and the removal of the names of the blacklist including the debate about the constitution,” said Salim, referring to Taliban detention.
He said that the Taliban had not announced when they were ready to hold the next round of talks, reporting Tolo news.
“The discussion moved between our contact groups and the Taliban movement,” Salim said.
The Taliban so far did not comment on statistics about their victims.
In the past few weeks, Afghanistan has witnessed a surge in violence because the Taliban had intensified their attacks on civilians and Afghan security forces with complete pullback of foreign troops just a few weeks.
According to the numbers by the State Ministry for peace affairs, during this period 5,777 civilians were also killed including women and children, reported Tolo news.
