Bhopal: A total of 26,708 rape cases, 37 cases of murder after Gangrape and 27,827 crimes kidnapping little girls registered in Madhya Pradesh for the past four and a half years, the state government told MP assembly on Monday.
Minister of State House Narottam Mishra gave this information in a written reply to the question filed by the Mla congress Patwari.
A total of 26,708 rape cases were registered throughout Madhya Pradesh from January 2017 to June 2021, the answer was stated.
Also, 37 murder cases after Gangrape was registered during this period (January 2017 to June 2021).
During the same period, 27,827 cases of kidnapping small girls registered throughout the state in addition to 854 cases of kidnapping women (other than minors), the answer said.
A total of 2,663 cases of female murder were also registered in the state during this period.
Of these, the highest number of 633 murder cases was registered in 2020.
In 2017, 549 cases were registered, 583 in 2018 and 577 in 2019.
From January to 30 June this year, 321 registered female murder cases, the answer was stated.

Proceedings were postponed for the day after the assembly paid tribute to several former MLA who died recently and to the two wave victims of Covid-19 and Naxal Blast in Dantewada in the adjacent Chhattisgarh.
