Nashik: For the first time since January this year, more than 3.15 beneficiaries of the Lakh received a vaccine dose in one day on Wednesday in five districts in North Maharashtra.
The previous best number for one-day vaccination was registered on September 4, when more than 2.47 beneficiaries of the Lakh were given shots in five districts.
Deputy Director of the Public Health Ministry, Nashik Region, Dr.
Pd Gandal told TI that officials in Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar, and Ahmednagar Regency could manage a large number of beneficiaries because vaccines were adequately available.
“Health workers in these districts do extraordinary work and have to applaud their efforts,” Gandal comments.
Leading five districts in the number of one-day vaccination is Jalgaon, which for the second time since September 4, vaccinated more than one recipient of the Lakh.
On September 4, the one-day vaccination figure Jalgaon stood on one lakh and on Wednesday, more than 1.16 beneficiaries of the Lakh were given a vaccine.
Likewise, Ahmednagar, with more than 88,000 vaccinations, and Nashik, with more than 78,000 vaccinations, register the highest number of vaccinations in their districts on Wednesday.
Jalgaon Abhijit Raut’s district collector recently said that this district was able to vaccinate 1.50 lakh a day which provided availability was not a problem.
Health officials in these districts said they were able to carry out high vaccinations because they had received adequate doses.
Vaccination coordinator and representative of the billing Nashik Ganesh, for example, said more than 28.57 beneficiaries of the Lakh in the district were partially or fully vaccinated so far.
There are 405 government vaccination centers and 30 private hospitals involved in vaccination programs in the Nashik district.
“The vaccine supply has improved and hence one day vaccination in the district is constantly swollen,” added for example.
