Chandrapur / Amravati: More than 300 schools reopened in rural areas in Chandrapur and Amravati districts on Thursday as students flock to higher and middle class with updated enthusiasm.
More than 150 schools in the Gram Pancayat area are free from Covid-19 infection, continued in the Chandrapur district.
More than 5,600 students from STD VIII to XII attended the class on the first day of reopening their school, said Education Officer Ullhas Narad.
“Students have responded positively to the reopening of the school.
They are welcomed by teachers and classes held with Covid prevention measures.
More schools tend to be reopened in the coming days because formalities relating to the reopening at the level of Pan Panchayat has been completed,” said Narade to Toi.
Overall, 617 schools have secondary and higher education under Zilla Parishad (ZP) in this district, with a collective strength of 1,54,683 students.
Of these, 5,614 students attended their class on the first day, said Narad.
He added that 296 schools today eligible to reopen, based on criteria do not have covid patients in the gram area of Panchayat for a month or more.
“Preparations for reopening other schools are ongoing and many of them will hold a physical class in the coming days.
With the remaining low covid numbers, more schools gram Panchayat-level tends to achieve the feasibility criteria,” Narad said.
At least four English high schools, which are located on the outskirts of Chandrapur in the Gram Panchayat area and have almost all the strength of students from Chandrapur City, also reflecting the reopening.
Narad said that if Panchayats gram each allowed them, they could reopen the school, but they must be strictly following government guidelines about Covid security.

Educational officers ZP EZ Khan said, “We have 748 schools in the district and 337 of those proposed to start the class.
