More than 3,000 Girls embark in a green Assignment in Churu

JAIPUR: At a special initiative at the panchayats of all Taranagar cube of Churu district, most girls have taken control in the villages to the protection of environment and nature.
Approximately 100 girls each from the 33 gram panchayats (3,300 girls ) implanted 5,100 plants onto a single day at a significant push under Green Taranagar effort.
Aside from planting saplings, these girls also required a pledge to care for these saplings handling them as members of their family.
The event has been World Desertification Prevention Day, organised by Taranagar Panchayat Samiti.
Plantation push in most of the 33 panchayats was consumed simultaneously.
Within this special programme, participants chose a pledge to not waste food together with producing trees members of the households.
Development officer Sant Kumar Meena stated that beneath the Green Taranagar effort of MLA Narendra Budania, girls planted saplings in panchayat headquarters to stop desertification under NREGA and Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) strategy.
The programme has been organised under the guidance of Prof Shyam Sundar Jyani, winner of this prestigious United Nations’ Property for Life Award for environment conservation.
Jayana Devi, sarpanch of all Gajuwas panchayat, inaugurated the farm drive in the neighborhood college floor by planting 251 saplings of desert species Khejri, Rohida, Neem, Ber, Bakayana and Shisham.
The girls engaged in the programme were also granted off saplings of lemon, guava, mulberry, jamun, pomegranate etc., for plantation in the home.
Former sarpanch of the village Surendra Saran, declared the adoption of this college premises, required an oath to look after the crops for 3 decades on the event.
Sarpanch Lichma Meghwal presided over an identical programme organised from Togawas panchayat.
At Togawas, 151 girls planted 151 saplings while 151 fruit crops were spread to such girls participants.
Similar functions have been stored at another panchayats also.
Sub-divisional officer Monika Jakhar stated,”It is a special initiative to link girls with household forestry.” She stated,”Particular attention was paid into the method and space of farm completed.
Each of the saplings are planted in the distance of 15 feet.
Rural girls and sarpanchs have obtained the duty of maintaining the plants protected.” She stated 17 officers were placed in control of 2 panchayats for oversight in 33 g panchyats from the cube.
