New Delhi: The cumulative number of covid-19 vaccine doses provided in this country have passed 33.54 crores, including more than 25.14 lakh jabs given on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health said.
As many as 13,43,231 beneficiaries in the age group 18-44 received the first dose and 87,735 were given a second dose of vaccines on Wednesday.
Cumulatively, 9.14,62,206 people in the age group have received the first dose, while 21,77,618 has been given the second dose since the beginning of the third phase of the drive of the national vaccination, the ministry said in a statement.
As many as 33.54.69,340 vaccine doses have been given throughout the country, including 25.14,153 on Wednesday, according to a temporary report compiled at 7pm.
Eight countries – Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra – have provided the first dose of vaccines to more than 50 recipients of each in the age group 18-44.
Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal have provided the first dose of vaccines to more than 10 recipients each in 18-44 age group.
