Rajkot: Close to 2,700 class X and class XII Pass Youngsters in Porbandar has queued to be trained to attend patients if the third wave Covid-19 attacks the country.
Consider the lack of labor to deal with this proportion crisis, the district government has decided to train 350 people in various aspects of patient care.
However, they received nearly 3,000 applications and therefore decided to register maximum applicants.
They will be trained by medical professionals in various covid related requirements such as taking samples, measuring oxygen saturation, temperature and pulse pulses, compiling data and preparing reports, handling oxygen concentrators among other aspects.
The government has prepared a third possible wave by creating more beds and installing oxygen plants.
However, the labor crisis is expected to be a massive rush in a government-managed hospital.
The District Development Officer (DDO) VK Advani told TII, “We are preparing for the power of the frontline workers because if the third wave attacks, we will need a Big Huborce in the hospital.
Even though we are looking at only 350 training, we decided to register all that applied .
We will have a trained list of workers and will be able to recruit them temporarily when it needs to emerge.
“Training will be provided by other medical officers and district government staff for the position of emergency medical technicians, general assistant assistants, home health assistants, medical equipment assistants and Lab technician.
Pooja Khara from Advana Village who quit the study after HSC said, “I have started attending the training session for the past two days.
They taught us in Gujarati and explain medical terminology in simplified language.” They will also be trained theoretically and practically to identify Covid symptoms and distinguish them from malaria, swine flu and other respiratory diseases.
Young children will be taught green zones, orange and red, when an area must be declared the detention zone, how to monitor such areas, contact search, manage biomedical waste and prevention of infection.
Doctors and other PHC and CHC staff, who have worked during Covid-19, will provide training.
Time settings and training sites and coach names have been completed.
