New Delhi: More than 4.90 CRORE balance and Covid-19 vaccine doses that are not used are still available with the countries and trade union areas to be given, inform the Ministry of Health and family welfare on Monday.
The ministry said that 72.70.48,325 vaccine doses have been given to countries and the United States so far through free cost channels and through direct state procurement categories.
Of the total vaccines provided, 4,90,36,525 balance and doses of covid vaccines that are not used are still available with the state / UTS to be provided.
Next, more than 8 doses of lakh (8.25,000) are in the pipe.
The union government is committed to accelerating the steps and expanding the scope of Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country.
The new phase of the Covid-19 vaccination on vaccination starts from June 21.
Vaccination boost has increased through the availability of more vaccines, advanced visibility from vaccine availability to the country and UTS to allow better planning by them and streamline the vaccine supply chain.
As part of a national vaccination drive, the central government has supported the state and UT by providing free covid vaccines.
In the new phase of the universalization of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the central government will procure and supply (free of charge) 75 percent of the vaccine produced by vaccine producers in the country and UTS.
