New Delhi: More than 40,000 children have registered for a new academic session at the school run by East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), a senior official said on Thursday.
Many of these students have left private schools to join Civic Body-Run Schools, Rajiv Kumar, Chair of the Edmc Education Committee, claimed to be at a press conference here.
For new academic sessions, 40,033 students have enrolled in Edmc schools, Kumar said.
A large number of these students are those who have left private schools to join Edmc schools, he said.

This, he said, showed an increase in the quality of education provided at the school carried out by the Civic body.
“The Eastern corporation strives to provide quality education at the primary level to children.
And because of this commitment only, 40,033 students have registered,” Kumar said.
Edmc has two zones – Shahdara (North) and Shahdara (south).
According to Kumar, 15 schools in each zone are being developed as a school model with smart classrooms, computer laboratories, moderate-moderate instructions and other facilities.
