PUNE: Psychologists Radhika Bapat in Pune and US-based Uma Chandrika Millnerin Conjunction with the Asian American Psychological Association, have Established INDEAR (Indian Network of Those Diaspora for Crucial Support and Relief) to offer free mental health Care to frontline Health Care workers.
The continuing pandemic has influenced physical and psychological health of tens of thousands of frontline employees, including physicians, nurses, psychotherapists, hospital employees and crematorium employees, a lot of whom operate over 14 hours per day without PPE fittings or necessary safety gear.
“Affected by what has been occurring in India, Millner achieved to assist me.
We’ve been friends for 20 decades.
I told her I had provided free treatment to frontline employees on Tuesdays and had been overwhelmed with the amount of those who contacted mepersonally.
Our dialog contributed for her offering to assist on a bigger scale,” explained Bapat.
More than 400 mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers, have given their time and experience for this particular initiative.
The sessions Can Be Found in Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Marwari, Odia (Oriya), Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
