More than 41 lakh teens get Covid shots on day 1, 53.6 lakh register

New Delhi: The launch of Covid vaccination for teenagers drawing an enthusiastic response, with almost 41.3 lakh children between 15 and 18 years received Jab to 11pm on Monday, increasing the calculation of daily vaccination of up to 98.6 lakh, just below the crore .

Among other major countries, Bihar was vaccinated 1.7 lakh teenager, Maharashtra 1.8 lakh, Tamil Nadu 1.9 Lakh and West Bengal around 1 lakh on the first day of the launch of the program.
In Delhi, 21,010 teenagers received shots until 10pm.
Registration in the 15-18 category, which opened from January 1, jumped to around 53.6 lakh from almost 8 lakh until Sunday.
When walk-in is permitted, most children are listed on the spot.
The Ministry of Health’s projection places the number of teenagers in the bracket aged 15-18 at 7.4 crores.
With the center asking for a status to set a separate session to vaccinate these children to avoid mixing the vaccine intended for adults, a total of more than 1.12 Lakh sites were given a shot on Monday.
This includes sites that meet adults too.
India is currently using domestic artificial covaxin to investigate children.

Overall, India has provided more than 146 crore doses so far.
While more than 90% of adult populations have received at least one dose, around 65% have been fully vaccinated.
