More than 48L maturity for covid 2 vaccine doses in k’taka

Bengaluru: More than 48 Lakh people matured for the second dose of Covid vaccination in the state.
These are those who have completed 84 days since they took the first dose of Covishield and 28 days to be attached to the first dose of Covaxin.
Data, available until December 23, is for both covaxin (5 lakh) and covishield (43 lakh).
The highest number of people came from Bengaluru (BBMP) with more than 12 lakh than they had not taken their second dose.
The District Health Authority throughout Karnataka tried to reach out to people who had not appeared for their second shot.
These include health service workers who call and check the reasons for delays, persuading them to visit the nearest vaccination center and send a reminder message.
PAN-India Campaign Har Ghar Dastak (beats at each door), which starts on November 3, targets people who are not vaccinated or those who are due to the second dose.
According to the Ministry of Health officials, taking doses to the door of people through cellular units have increased vaccination rates, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.
In addition, over the past month, Omicron Fear also raised awareness about vaccination.
“Many don’t care about accessing the second dose.
With an omicron fear, there is an increase in gradual vaccination,” said an official.
However, there are also problems like the names of people who have taken the second dose that still reflects the list.
“In some cases, we have people say they have taken the second dose when we call it.
Most of these can be the cases of those who have taken the covishield dose early, without waiting for the completion of 84 days,” another official said.
Those who have taken two doses must declare themselves from the Covid vaccination certificate recently as the last one, added officers.
According to officials, no one will admit whether they have taken the second dose of the covishield with a shorter inter-dose duration violating the government protocol.
In accordance with government data, out of 48 lakh people in the list, 47,353 are health workers.
Arundhathi Chandrasekhar, Mission Director, National Health Mission, said the majority of them had taken the second dose under the general category.
“We have verified the same thing.
About 1% have not taken it,” he said.
The fair list is dynamic and reduced, said Arundhathi.
In a meeting, BBMP has shown a problem of people who do not take second dose to private hospital members and nursing home associations (Phan).
“We were told that more than 14,000 people within the border of Bengaluru had taken their first dose in private hospitals, but had not yet advanced to take their second dose.
We have to track them and check whether they have got a second shot elsewhere,” said Dr.
HM Prasnana, President, Phana, said.
