More than 500 children traded are saved in more than 2 years: data

Ranchi: As many as 508 children, 18 years and down and most women, from Jharkhand who are victims of human trafficking are saved between 2019 and to date, according to the leaders of the Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Resources of the State Government (IRRC).
Information sharing at the seminar on household trade and violence, Sanjay Mishra from Bal Kalyan Sangh, a non-government organization that was associated with BRC until recently, said that from thousands of girls migrating to other countries for work, 12% lost .
He said these difficult children to reach extreme exploitation rates.
He added that high amounts are also indicative of large-scale human trafficking that occurred during the Covid period as well.
He said that between January 2021 and October 2021, 95 cases – involved 85 girls and 10 boys – human trafficking was revealed.
Loss of work and livelihood means is the main reason why girls are forced to move to other countries for work.
Commenting on this problem, the Director General of the Ministry of Criminal Investigation Department, Prashant Singh, said that human trafficking is a serious problem for Jharkhand, adding that all parts of society must join hands to curb them.
He added that many women who lost their jobs during a pandemic, domestic violence also increased.
Some other speakers, including the former Chairperson of the State Commission for Women Mahua Majhi, Head of the State of the Asian Foundation Nandita Das and the President’s actions on trading and sexual exploitation of the children of Manvendra Nath Mandal also talked about this problem.
