New Delhi: A total of 5,613 cases related to ‘violations of the state’, where a total of 7,607 people were arrested, registered throughout the country in 2020.
This marked a sharp decline of 26.7% from 7,656 the violations were recorded in 2019, where total 12,140 people were arrested.
The head ‘violation of the state’ included in the NCRB annual report on ‘crime in India’ includes cases listed under the IPC section 121-123, 124A (incitement) and 153b (imputation and prejudice statements for national integration), preventive measures of evolving activities Law, the official secret act and prevention of damage to public property laws.
Of the 5,613 violations of the state reported the national by 2020, 4,524 was under the prevention of damage to public property action, 796 under UPA, 99 under the Section 121-123 IPC, 82 under the 124A part of IPC, 73 and 39 in the Secret Act Official.
Uttar Pradesh contributed 39% of all-india violations against the country ‘.
Also, 96% of the ‘violation of the state’ recorded last year was under the prevention of damage to public property action.
Among other countries that reported a large number of ‘violations of the state’ were Tamil Nadu (668), Assam (333), J & K (317) and Delhi (18).
Of the 796 cases of UPA registered in this country in 2020, the maximum in J & K (287), followed by Manipur (169), Jharkhand (86), Assam (72) and rose (72).
The highest incitement case in Manipur (15) and Assam (12), followed by rising (7).
Maharashtra topped the graph with recording almost a quarter of cases throughout the country under OSA.
A total of 7,607 people were arrested for ‘violations of the country’, 956 people were punished, 54 were repatriated and 1,282 were released.
6,009 people were arrested under the prevention of damage to public property action, 1,321 under UPA (up from 1,226 in 2019), 44 for incitement and 52 under OSA.
While 80 people were punished under UPA, 116 were released and eight were dismissed by the court.
Three people were punished for decision and four were released.
One person each was punished and released under OSA.
