More than 6.07 lakh Cyber Security Cases Reported until June this year: The Union Minister recounts parliament

New Delhi: Indian computer emergency response team (Cert-in), mandated to track and monitor cyber security incidents in India, reported 6.07,220 such cases until June 2021, MOS for electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, notify parliament on Wednesday .

The steps taken by the minister government said that the government had taken a number of steps to increase cyber security posture and prevent cyber attacks.

Chandrasekhar also said that the government has formulated a Draft National Cyber ​​Security Strategy 2021 (NCSS2021), which aims to overcome the security problem of the National Cyberspace.
The funds allocated to increase Cyber ​​Securityhe said that RS 85 Crore has been allocated by electronics and the IT ministry to strengthen cyber security in 2015-16, adding that the funds increased to Rs 70 Crore in 2016-17, Rs 140.48 Crore in 2017 – 18, Rs 150 Crore in 2018-19, RS 162 Crore in 2019-20, RS 310 Crore in 2020-21 and RS 416 Crore at 2021-22.
Rules, complaints, and solutions that are in accordance with the question, Chandrasekhar said there were no proposals with the ministry to review the rules of IT intermediaries, which have been introduced to ensure the accountability of digital platforms to users and prescribe the digience handed by large social media intermediaries.
Chandrasekhar, responding to another question, said the ministry had received complaints about the “abuse” of certain sites for online prostitution.
He also said that the National Informatics Center has developed customary solutions ‘Sandes’, which is a platform “open source-based, safe and capable of clouds held in government infrastructure so that strategic control remains with the government”.
“The solution is being used by the government and is available on the Google Play Store and the App Store,” Chandrasekhar said further.
