New Delhi: Cumulative number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine given in the country surpassed the 60-crore sign on Wednesday, said Minister of Health Union Mankaviya.
“Under PM @narendramodi Ji #sabkovaccinemertainvaccine Initiative, India passed the 60 crore vaccination limit.
Congratulations everything!” He said in a tweet.
India takes 85 days to touch the number 10 crore.
Then it took 45 days to cross the 20 crore sign and 29 more days to reach 30 crores, the minister told.
This country takes 24 days to reach 40 crores from 30 crores and then 20 more days to cross 50 crore vaccinations on August 6, it takes 19 more days to pass 60 crore signs, said Mandaviya.
Drive Vaccination throughout the country was launched on January 16 with health workers (HCWS) inoculated in the first phase.
Vaccination for frontline workers (FLWS) starts from February 2.
The next phase of Covid-19 vaccination starts from March 1 for people over 60 years and those aged 45 years and over with the condition of the specified co-morbid.
The state launched vaccination for all people aged more than 45 years since April 1 then decided to expand drive vaccination by allowing everyone above 18 to vaccinate from May 1.
