New Delhi: More than 600 people fined by Delhi police on New Year’s Eve because of violations such as drunk and dangerous driving, officials said on Saturday.
Thirty-six Challan was issued to drive a drunken state, 103 for dangerous driving, 370 for driving without a helmet, 48 to triple triple and 100 for other violations, according to the police.
The total number of challans issued is 657, they said.
Last year, the police had published 1,336 Challans more than double this year.
The amount is less large because the night at night is in the national capital given the increasing Covid case.
Adequate security arrangements have been implemented on New Year’s Eve to implement guidelines issued by Delhi disaster management authorities by viewing the spread of Covid-19 here, police said.
