More than 600 international travelers without traveling in Pune

Pune: As many as 602 travelers from 7,738 returned from international destinations since November 1, they still cannot be traced in all districts, a report from the health department disclosed.
According to him, around 442 travelers cannot be traced within the limit of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 109 in rural areas and 51 within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limit.
Of the 7,738 travelers, a total of 7,132 were tracked, the report was stated.
A total of 6,555 of them underwent a RT-PCR test.
80 samples were tested positively for transmission.
The Ministry of Health officials from each Civic Agency stated that the wrong address, there was no response to telephone calls and the wrong cellphone number, among others, creating obstacles in tracing 602 people.
Sanjeev Wavare, Assistant Health Officer, PMC, told TII, “Given a large number of international travelers, many cannot be traced.
We took help from the police and ensured at least some of them were tracked.” Wavare said in the middle of the current increase in cases.
Omicron cases in all states and districts, practically do not make sense to track travelers now.
“We must focus on increasing preventive measures and ensuring the spread of infection can be contained,” he said.
